Shred Fest is a free event hosted by Elevate Credit Union for Elevate members and the community to help keep your identity safe and protect you from fraud. Due to increasing costs, we will only be holding one Shred Fest this year at our Brigham Location.
It’s important to shred documents that contain your personal and confidential information. Even though there are small shredders you can buy for your home, these often give a false sense of security. Even worse, they can potentially threaten physical safety and information security. Elevate partners with Epic Shred, a professional, secure shredding service that will do everything for you. Just drive up to the shred truck, and we will handle the rest!
While there are certain documents you will always want to shred, by the same token, several less consequential documents can hold personal information, which in the wrong hands, could lead to fraud or identity theft. For instance, some of the junk mail, most notably credit card offers, could be used by criminals to open accounts in your name and destroy your credit. Before placing any piece of paper in the trash, take a moment to consider if it has any personally identifying information; if so, it should be shredded instead.
